Global Business Outlook 2023
Tuesday, December 6, 2022 (6:00 PM - 8:30 PM) (PST)
Description
The year 2022 will be remembered as one where the Covid-19 pandemic and its global impact was replaced by an unprecedented geopolitical crisis in Europe that is now affecting the world economy.
The global economy which was slowly recovering and the international supply chains that were stabilizing had to absorb a major shock from the Russian war in Ukraine. Europe’s energy supply was severely impacted and adjustments to supply lines and energy imports are reverberating in global markets.
As 2022 is coming to a close, uncertainty shapes the business and political outlook. A weakening of the world economy and simultaneous spike of inflationary pressures pose serious questions for the future.
Will the United States and Europe face a sustained recession?
Will inflation be reined in by monetary policies that are limiting money supply?
How will geopolitics affect global development?
And how will the critical topic of climate change mitigation fare in this turbulent environment?
We are particularly excited to discuss the 2023 Global Outlook with our panelists.
The Global Business Outlook event concludes GABA's annual event season. We are happily returning to our tradition of holding this event in the German Consulate General in San Francisco. We look forward to seeing you there!
