HOW DO WE RESPONSIBLY HARNESS AI FOR GOOD?

How do we ensure that AI systems are developed and deployed in a way that aligns with social values and human rights?

The potential benefits of AI systems for the society are vast but so too are the threats from the proliferation of these independent systems. Are the analogies with global pandemics and nuclear weapons appropriate or more so with the adoption of electricity? Without hindering valuable technological advance, what must we do now to lay the groundwork for responsible AI? What are the roles of companies, researchers, and public policy makers? How can these questions be addressed at a national level or internationally?

Please join us to explore these complex questions surrounding the technology, societal impacts, ethics and human rights.

Our panel of thought leaders will discuss the development and deployment of responsible AI from a variety of different perspectives.

What are the most worrisome ethical and social concerns that have been raised about AI, such as bias, misinformation, oversight, privacy, intellectual property, and workforce impacts?
How can we ensure that AI systems are developed and deployed in a way that aligns with social values and human rights when these values differ across cultures?
How can transparency and accountability be required elements of any AI system?
What clear standards can be designed, and what examples of regulations for governing AI systems already exist or are under development?
Who are the required stakeholders for defining what is understood by "responsible AI"? Corporates, AI developers, governments, civil society groups, and individual users?
What kind of public awareness and education are necessary about the risks and benefits of AI to society?

The panel will discuss the key considerations and concrete options for setting the foundation for a future of AI systems that best serve humanity and that prevent the risks of uncontrollable chain reactions.

The goal of this panel is to foster a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by AI for a general audience of business leaders, technology experts, public policy makers, educators and the general public.
